The Cobra 5 ESC combines advanced hardware and intelligent software to deliver dependable, high-efficiency power for demanding RC setups.
Sharing the same footprint as the Mamba XLX2, it features an upgraded current-sensing and thermal-management system that enhances reliability under extreme loads.
New tuning controls let drivers fine-tune brake curves and reverse behavior to prevent drivetrain stress, reduce gear wear, and create smoother throttle transitions.
With its next-gen control algorithm, the Cobra 5 provides a more consistent and predictable driving experience, even under high traction or aggressive acceleration.
The ESC’s improved data-logging system records at twice the sample rate of previous Castle Creations models. You’ll gain deeper insight into performance through expanded data points such as motor timing, acceleration from the onboard accelerometer, and more - all viewable in real time or after a run.
This allows precision tuning to improve traction, detect slippage, and optimize motor efficiency.
All tuning, data logging, and firmware updates are available free of charge using the Castle Link V4 USB Adapter (included) and Castle Link 2 software. Optional B-Link 2 Bluetooth Interface enables smartphone-based programming via the free Castle Link 2 app for Android and iOS.

🧠 Technical Notes
- Perform routine maintenance after driving in wet or muddy conditions to preserve bearings and internal components.
- Closely monitor motor temperature; excess heat can demagnetize rotor magnets. Do not allow temperatures to exceed 200 °F (93 °C) on either the motor or ESC.
- Use mounting screws no longer than 5 mm into the motor front housing. Longer screws may damage windings and void the product warranty.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The Castle Cobra 5 is designed for general 1/5 and 1/7 scale RC use and not for drag racing or speed-running. Using the ESC in these conditions will void the warranty.
For extreme drag or speed-run setups, the Ghost RC Cobra 5 ACE ESC is recommended; however, because of the inherently high-stress nature of such applications, it is sold without warranty.
